STRIVE Celebrates Independence Day

Members of STRIVE, our day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, celebrated July 4th with a Red, White and Blue barbeque. The members enjoyed music, delicious food grilled by Domingo Matos and a live show by Rizzo’s Reptile Discovery.  STRIVE members hosted a bake sale to raise funds for the show and were so glad they did! The members met Pancake the frog, Pumpkin the snake, Grut the baby alligator and Sunny the enormous snake!

Recreation and socialization add meaning and memories to everyone’s lives. For individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, it is especially important to find safe, comfortable and fun activities in the community. The STRIVE day program provides all kinds of enriching activities for its members to help them connect with each other.
