Pascack Valley Lacrosse Players Raise Awareness and Funds for Buster Box Initiative
(Paramus, NJ) May 14, 2026 – The Pascack Valley High School Lacrosse Team selected Children’s Aid and Family Services, a northern New Jersey nonprofit human services agency, and its Buster Fund as the beneficiary of this year’s charity lacrosse game against Paramus High School.
The Buster Fund supports the purchase and distribution of Buster Boxes, newspaper-style dispensers that provide free Narcan throughout Bergen County. Funded through the annual nonprofit Buster Stock concert, the boxes are currently located in 15 Bergen County communities to help expand public access to the life-saving medication. The initiative was created by Buster Spike Lucky Elkin Marri’s family in his memory after he died from a fentanyl overdose in 2021 at the age of 24.
Nick Lamparillo, a senior at Pascack Valley High School, co-captain of the lacrosse team, and intern with the Paramus Police Department, helped organize the fundraiser along with Paramus Police Captain James Teehan. To raise both funds and awareness, the team designed and sold custom jerseys, T-shirts, and socks featuring the Buster Stock logo and the Stop the ODs hotline number: 201-589-2976.
“Our team chose the Buster Fund for this year’s charity game because we wanted to support a meaningful cause,” said Lamparillo. “Our goal is to spread awareness about the modern drug epidemic and provide vital information about how Narcan can be used to save lives.”
“Seeing young people step up for this cause is incredibly meaningful, and we are so grateful,” said Shavonda Sumter, President and CEO of Children’s Aid and Family Services. “Their efforts will help raise awareness and save lives.”
