Services for Families Caring for Loved Ones
Kinship caregivers are people who have taken on the responsibility of caring for their relatives’ children. These children might be the caregiver’s siblings, nieces, nephews, or, most often, grandchildren. In 2017, 32 percent of all children in foster care were staying in the home of a relative.
At Children’s Aid and Family Services we provide the following support for kinship families:
Children’s Aid and Family Services provides KLG (Kinship Legal Guardianship) counseling to families that reside in Bergen, Passaic and Essex Counties, excluding Newark.
