Robert B. Jones, Ph.D., Appointed CEO of Children’s Aid and Family Services

The Board of Trustees of Children’s Aid and Family Services is pleased to announce the return of CEO Emeritus, Robert B. Jones, Ph.D., as CEO of Children’s Aid and Family Services, effective immediately. Dr. Jones will serve as CEO for an interim period to assist the agency through this transition until a new CEO is selected.

Nationally recognized in the fields of child welfare and social services, Dr. Jones is a skilled administrator, a teacher, an author, a philanthropist and an expert fundraiser. Dr. Jones obtained his doctorate in social policy and administration from Rutgers University, his master’s degree in clinical social work from the Rutgers Graduate School of Social Work, and his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers College.  His post-graduate training includes certificates from the Executive Management and Leadership Program at Harvard University’s JFK School of Government, the Program on Negotiation at the Harvard Law School, and the New Jersey Institute for Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy. He has held teaching positions at Notre Dame and University of Michigan. Dr. Jones is the 2003 recipient of the Samuel Gerson Nordlinger Child Welfare Leadership Award, presented by the Alliance for Children and Families, and is also a Walter Head Fellow for Leadership in Program Innovation and Development, presented by Rotary International.

Dr. Jones previously served as CEO of Children’s Aid and Family Services for nearly 30 years, overseeing its growth into a leading nonprofit provider of services that protect and support vulnerable children, adults and families.
