Make an Impact Virtual 5K

Children’s Aid and Family Services recently hosted its second annual Make an Impact Virtual 5K. To kick off the five-day event, members of STRIVE, a day program for adults 21 and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities, took laps around the agency’s building.

Paul Aronsohn, Ombudsman for Individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities and Their Families, attended the event along with agency staff and supporters who cheered on the members of STRIVE.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will support a wide range of the agency’s services, including foster care and adoption, support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and substance misuse prevention, education, and peer recovery supports.

“Children’s Aid and Family Services is 126 years strong this year because of the unwavering support of the community,” says Shavonda E. Sumter, President and CEO. “Our supporters’ generosity ensures we continue to provide vital services that empower individuals, strengthen families, and support healthier communities. We are incredibly grateful.”

To everyone who walked, ran, donated, or cheered on the event, thank you!
