State and Member Spotlight
New Jersey: FFTA member, Children’s Aid And Family Services Vice President, Jo Ponticello recently announced the agency was awarded a $3.7 million, three-year grant for Adoption and Kinship Legal Guardianship – Clinical Services throughout New Jersey.
This program will provide in-home therapeutic services and supports to foster, adoptive, and kinship families utilizing the Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy model as the treatment approach. This model focuses on attachment and trauma and works to support and educate caregivers in building attachment through playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy. The goal is to build and preserve positive family connections and to prevent disruption. “We are excited to bring this model to families!” Said Ponticello.
