10th Annual Tree of Addiction Conference

The Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources held its 10th Annual Tree of Addiction Conference recently. The Keynote speaker was Andrew Walsh, LCSW, MHRM, who discussed the impact of social media on today’s youth. He discussed how the more time youth spend on social media the more likely they are to have higher rates of depression, loneliness, and anxiety. Participants left the workshop learning best practice recommendations for clients who struggle with social media use and how to help their loved ones. Conference workshops included The MAT Playbook: Updates and Best Practices for Integration of Medication Assisted Treatment, The State of Substance Use in Bergen County: Drug Trends Encountered by Law Enforcement, and Preventing Bias: Cultural Humility and Community Building. The event was well attended by advocates, clinicians, law enforcement, educators, and other professionals. Special thanks to the event sponsors.
