It is with sadness that we share the news of the passing of Hilde Goldberg, who served as the first Director of Turrell Child Care & Early Learning Center. Ms. Goldberg was a volunteer with the National Council of Jewish Women, the organization that was instrumental in founding the Turrell Center in 1971. At that time, the Turrell Center was located in a church on Forest Avenue in Paramus. Ms. Goldberg was known for always putting the needs of others first. “Hilde taught everyone. She had such a positive attitude and always helped everyone grow. She cared very much about the families we served and was always concerned about who she could help next,” says Sandy Richards, the former longtime Director of Turrell Child Care & Early Learning Center.
As a result of her visionary thinking and passion to help others, Ms. Goldberg helped make affordable childcare available to thousands of families. Children’s Aid and Family Services sends its heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
