Community-Based Supports
We understand that it can be overwhelming for a family to support all of the needs of a loved one with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We work closely with families in their homes to identify needed supports and develop plans specifically designed to address the individual’s needs. We provide in-home supports for children ages 3-21 with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our community-based supports are provided by professional staff trained in nationally recognized best practices. Our goal is to improve behaviors and increase independence and inclusion in the community.
Supports Include:
Intensive In-Home Services – Behavioral
These services focus on the reduction of challenging behaviors, which can include tantrums, self-injurious behavior, property destruction, elopement, verbal aggression and non-compliance. Our staff use Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavioral Supports. Our Board Certified Behavior Analysist (BCBA) develops an individualized Behavioral Support Plan and supervises the Behavior Technician who works with the family to implement these strategies.
Intensive In-Home Services – Clinical (Available in 2020)
These services are provided by a licensed clinician (LAC/LSW; LPC/LCSW) who focuses on anger management, self-expression, social skills, boundaries, self-esteem and creating more structure and routine in the home, working with both the child and the family.
Individual Support Services
Support Services are available for eligible children, youth and young adults under the age of 21. These services focus on the use of Positive Behavioral Supports, help in daily living activities such as eating, toileting, dressing, bathing and grooming and help with skills to develop independence such as meal preparation, money management, shopping for food, clothing and other essentials, completing household chores, laundry, communicating by phone and participating in the community.
