The EPIC (Every Person Influences Children) Parenting Program
Parenting workshops are not just for young or inexperienced parents; they’re for everyone who wants to be a better parent.
The EPIC parenting education model is built on the principles of active learning. EPIC curricula combine an instructional approach with an active learning model that utilizes current research based on best practices of parenting education. Parenting programs have a positive impact on children by first positively impacting their parents.
Benefits of parenting classes for parents of any race and income level:
- The more engaged parents are in parenting workshops, the better their confidence, the more positive their view of their role as a parent, and the greater the levels of interaction with their children.
- When parents increase their levels and quality of interactions with their children, children become better prepared for school and personal success.
- Staying up-to-date on the newest and most effective parenting techniques.
- Can take the mystery out of being a parent, sharing what to expect, effective ways to discipline, and the best ways to prepare their children for school.
With over 30 years of experience, EPIC workshops provide the tools parents need to develop more effective communication skills, and deal with the complex and challenging issues facing families today. Parents learn how to keep a loving connection with their children from infancy, to elementary school, throughout the difficult years of adolescence and beyond. Groups are made up of 8-12 people of all ages and all family configurations. A certificate of completion is awarded at the end of the series.
