Disability Support Services

Children’s Aid and Family Services’ Disability Support Services (DSS) program is dedicated to expanding access to inclusive, person-centered supports for individuals across a diverse spectrum of abilities, needs, and communities. Through meaningful programming, skilled staff, and community-based opportunities, we empower individuals to build skills, independence, and connection.

Day Program and Recreation

Our STRIVE Day Program serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities ages 21 and up, Monday through Friday, at our sunny, modern Paramus location. Our professional and compassionate staff partners with members to support skill development, independence, and community inclusion.

We also offer a community recreation program three days a week and on Saturdays, where members enjoy fitness activities, arts and crafts, and community outings that encourage social connection and engagement.

Community Residences

We opened our first community residence for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in 2012. Today, Children’s Aid and Family Services operates group homes in Bergen, Essex, and Passaic Counties, providing safe, supportive environments that promote independence, dignity, and a true sense of home.
