From the World Cup to the NFL Season: Promoting Safe Rides Home

During the FIFA Club World Cup, The Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources launched a community outreach campaign encouraging people to plan for a safe ride home if they were drinking or using other substances.
Staff distributed prevention materials, including table tent cards, coasters, posters, lawn signs, and information about The Center’s free Buster Boxes, to 17 restaurants and bars, the Hackensack Bus Terminal parking lot, and three college campuses throughout the Meadowlands area.
The campaign received an enthusiastic response from local businesses, many of which have invited The Center to return with additional materials during the upcoming NFL season. “By building these partnerships now, The Center is creating a lasting prevention campaign that can continue during future high-traffic events and holiday celebrations,” says Constantina Nicoles, Coalition Coordinator, Bergen County. “These efforts help raise awareness and encourage more people in our community to make safe choices.”
