Children's Workshops

Children's Aid and Family Services is offering Social Skills Programs for children and preteens ages 4 1/2 -12 during a winter session in early February and a spring session in late April. The program is geared toward enhancing children's self-esteem, communications skills, and ability to interact with others. Children will learn how to identify and talk about their feelings, listen attentively, cope with bullying, resolve conflicts, and adapt to new situations.

Social Skills programs begin with an initial meeting with the program coordinator, a parent orientation, and the children's groups will meet either on Tuesdays or Wednesdays after school or early evening and continue for eight sessions.
Children's Aid and Family Services is one of the largest regional, nonprofit human services organizations serving northern New Jersey. The agency is fully accredited and has served the community for more than 100 years. Its mission is to preserve, protect and, when needed, provide families. Motivated by compassion for vulnerable children, young adults, frail elderly and their families, it provides high-quality and innovative services that meet their social, educational and emotional needs.

The Social Skills Program for Children and Preteens at Riggs House is located at 148 Prospect Street in Ridgewood. For more information or to register your child for this program, please call 201-445-7015.
