Joshua is an adorable African American boy with big brown eyes. He is affectionate, animated and has a good sense of humor. Although small in size, Joshua carries himself as if he is much older. He responds well to positive reinforcement and shows leadership in social situations. Joshua has a hearty appetite but does not particularly care for vegetables.
Joshua has made tremendous gains academically. His strongest subject is math; however he is very proud of his reading abilities. He is enjoying school because of the positive reinforcement he receives at school and home. Joshua is still trying to learn not to allow his emotions to interfere with his academic performance. He has shown great improvement in this area. For the most part, Joshua gets along well with his peers and enjoys playing outdoors. He excels in bike/scooter riding and rollerblading. Joshua loves computer and video games. Joshua is an excellent athlete, especially as a soccer player.
Joshua currently resides in a treatment home where he is learning to accept redirection from adults and to control his anger. Change does not come easily to Joshua; therefore, he needs and deserves a family that can provide him with structure, unconditional love and a sense of permanency.
