Our 2014 Annual Report is now available online! We are deeply grateful to all our supporters who helped us realize a 13% increase in philanthropy in 2014. We are honored to be part of a caring and giving community.
Some memorable moments from 2014 include reaching 1,000 volunteers, tutoring 35 children a month, providing diapers and formula for 172 families and much more! Thank you to all our supporters, donors and volunteers. You are truly making a difference in the lives of the most vunerable members of our community!
Thank you to Connect One Bank and their summer interns for choosing Children's Aid and Family Services to be the recipient of their Intern Challenge Fundraiser! They collected over $2,300 in baby products for our Baby Basics Program, and raised over $1,000, which has sent 10 kids from our programs to summer camp!
Many of the children in our care often miss out on the simple experiences of a normal childhood. Because of our donors, supporters, volunteers and staff we can give them these small extras and let them revel in the simple joys of childhood. Recently the young boys in one of our therapeutic foster care homes spent the day at an amusement park; riding the roller coasters, dressing up in costumes and spending the day outside. Thank you for giving the children this experience.
For our children in foster care, the answer is most definitely, yes! The majority of them have grown up in low-income neighborhoods in cities and have never had the usual summer rites of passage that we take for granted: barbecues, days at the beach and nights spent roasting marshmallows. But with your help, we are able to send our children to summer camp, where they learn to swim in the lake, go on hikes in the woods, play team sports and make new friends. They revel in the simple joys of childhood, often for the first time, and gain much-needed confidence in themselves.

The Depot Gift Store, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, hosted the 81st Annual Meeting of the Federation of Woman’s Exchanges. Members traveled to NJ from as far away as St. Louis, MO. The Depot received a commendation from County Executive James Tedesco.
Thanks to the volunteers of The Depot for helping to empower women and support Children’s Aid and Family Services.
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Jane Fiedler's passing. She was one of the co-founders of Zoe's Place. She has had a tremendous impact on the young pregnant women of Bergen County by providing them with help, support and a home.
