Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week!

Friday, April 15, 2016

Children's Aid and Family Services has been in existence for over 100 years and was founded by a group of volunteers.  In this time, we have had thousands of volunteers come through our doors.  Every one of them has made an impact on our staff, our community and most importantly the children in our care.  From our special event volunteers, to our educational tutors, to office adminstration volunteers to our furry little friends in our pet therapy program; we wouldn't be able to do the work that we do if it wasn't for their help.  We wanted to take a moment out of our week to simply say than

Recovery Coach Volunteers Needed

Monday, April 11, 2016

Your experience could help save lives! The recovery coach academy is seeking addicts who have been drug-free for three years and who will participate in a 30-hour training program and provide on-call coverage in local emergency rooms. The idea is to start a conversation about treatment, initiated by someone who remains active in the recovery community, attend 12-step meetings and provide contact follow-up for at least 60 days.

Those interested in coaching should call the Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources, a program of Children's Aid and Family Services, at 201-740-7069.
